Beli Manastir

Welcome to Baranja and its administrative center – the town of Beli Manastir.

The town grew on the southwestern slopes of Baranja Mountain, north of the city of Osijek. The name of the town comes from the Hungarian palatine Moys de Daro who built a monastery on his estate in Pél in 1227.

After the southern Baranja became part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, the town's name was changed to Beli Manastir in 1923. Today, the town has just over 10,000 inhabitants living in several districts and suburbs.

Situated between Danube River in the northeast and Drava River in southwest, the entire region of Baranja features preserved nature, wine roads, swamps, and ethno-cultural heritage that captivate visitors with the unchanged charm of the old days.

Hotel Patria ****
